Key Role in the MV Lady Jean's Transformation
We played a crucial part in transforming the MV Lady Jean, now ready to provide vital healthcare services to remote communities in Lake Victoria. By offering technical support and donating 200 litres of paint, we ensured essential touch-up repairs and a complete recoat of the vessel’s external and underwater areas, preparing it for its mission.
Originally built in 1988 as a UK Navy GRP patrol vessel, the MV Lady Jean has been converted into a floating medical clinic. After extensive refurbishment, it travelled from Portsmouth to Mombasa by container ship, followed by an 840-kilometer journey by road to Kisumu, before reaching Mwanza, Tanzania.
