Lloyd's register verifies International
When shipowners and charterers make decisions based on vessel performance data, they need to trust the data collection process behind the numbers.
That's why we're pleased to share that Lloyd's Register has independently verified that the International® vessel performance analysis methodology as compliant with ISO 19030 – the global standard for measuring changes in hull and propeller performance.
ISO 19030 gives the shipping industry a consistent, transparent framework for assessing hull and propeller performance. Independent verification against it confirms that the analysis underpinning our speed loss reporting aligns with the recognised global benchmark. This gives shipowners, charterers and vessel performance analysts greater confidence when they use our data to support operational decisions.
Using this verified methodology, we can consistently evaluate and compare the real-world performance of our coating's portfolio, including both Intercept® and Interseek® products. This provides a robust, data-driven foundation for product positioning, enabling customers to make informed decisions based on measured performance outcomes.
As Barry Kidd, our Business Development Manager for Vessel Performance, puts it: “ISO 19030 gives the industry a consistent and transparent way to measure vessel performance. This independent verification is a significant milestone for International® and our customers, reinforcing confidence in the robustness and transparency of the analysis underpinning our reporting.”
He's clear, too, that strong results are never down to a single factor. Achieving low speed loss brings together the right coating technology for how a vessel operates, high-quality application in dock, and sound operational and maintenance decisions along the way. Combining high-quality data with that approach is what enables more informed, data-driven decision-making. And, for well-managed fleets, consistently strong performance outcomes that support both economic and environmental goals.
With the IMO and ship operators placing ever greater scrutiny on vessel efficiency, accurate and verifiable performance data has never mattered more. This independent confirmation reinforces role of International® as a trusted partner for the global deep-sea sector, where reliable data sits at the heart of long-term vessel management.
