International has a whale of a time at Kormarine 2009

Kormarine 2009 was held from the 21st – 24th October 2009 at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Centre in Busan, Korea.

The International Shipbuilding & Marine Equipment exhibition was first held in 1978 and since then has become a key event for global shipbuilding companies to share technologies and information.

This year Kormarine hosted 1,250 stands and attracted more than 40,000 visitors from 70 countries including Korea, Germany, The UK, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Italy, China, and Singapore.

International Paints presence was very distinctive. The theme for the exhibition stand was “eco efficient solutions” - designed to convey the idea that customers can reap both performance and environmental benefits with the use of International Paint’s key products.

The stand featured five key products – with the main focus on Intersleek 900. The stand had an Intersleek 900 “water screen” promoting the message of up to 9% fuel and emission savings, together with a turntable showing Intersleek case studies and awards.

On the first day of the event, the ambassador to the Netherlands visited our stand and showed particular interest in Intersleek 900 (picture in the PDF).

International Paint Korea (IPK), also held a seminar focusing on “Environmental and Operational Benefits of Foul Release Coatings” at the Nurimaru APEC House to coincide with the exhibition. More than 170 people attended, including major shipping companies, shipbuilding personnel, fishery companies and media.

At the seminar Mr OS Kang, President of IPK, delivered his welcoming speech saying “we recognise our success could not have been achieved without the support, cooperation and trust that we have enjoyed from customers. We will continue to strive to develop and deliver solutions which will allow you to succeed in your respective business environments.”

Speakers at the seminar were John Willsher (Intersleek Market Manager, Worldwide Marine) as the main presenter, and HJ Kim (Marketing Team, IPK) assisting as a Korean interpreter.

The event proved to be a success for the business. We received very positive feedback from customers who visited the stand and/or attended the seminar.
